  • Solar Panel Technician

    General role: Reports to the Operations Manager


    General Description of the Position:

    The Solar Technician is a fundamental member of the installation/troubleshooting/monitoring team and responsible for restoring communication to all solar systems, as well as potentially troubleshooting solar issues with AC and DC systems. In this role requires the individual to report directly to the Operations Manager and record and submit progress reports on visits to customer sites.


    Specific duties:

    • Installing/troubleshooting SunPower, SolarEdge and Enphase monitoring systems in the field
    • Maintaining all tools provided to you by Cosmic Solar
    • Communicate supply and equipment issues to properly address all monitoring needs
    • Track fleet monitoring systems and troubleshoot, if necessary
    • Contact technical support hotlines and work troubleshooting steps on job sites
    • Maintain regular communication with Operations Manager and Installation Teams
    • Ensure a high level of workmanship with a positive attitude

     

    Qualifications:

    • Competent with hand tools and monitoring instruments, laptops
    • Capable of managing multiple jobsites and working well with others
    • Proficient at problem solving/troubleshooting skills
    • Ability to manage software databases and CRMs
    • Clean driving record and background check
    • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience working with solar monitoring and networking experience, if possible
    • Over-achiever, track record of winning at whatever you put your mind to
    • Excellent customer service skills required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
    • Regular, reliable and predictable attendance required  

     

    Pay scale: $20 - $40 an hour  

  • Solar Consultant

    Reports to: Sales Manager


    Position Overview

    The Solar Consultant educates homeowners on the benefits of solar energy and helps them reduce their utility costs. Using advanced design software, you will present customized solar solutions, demonstrating system layout, performance, and long-term financial benefits tailored to each customer’s needs.


    At Cosmic Solar, we take a consultative approach—empowering customers with clear, honest information so they can make confident, informed decisions about transitioning to clean energy.


    This role is primarily field-based, with consultants frequently meeting prospective customers in their homes. While some sales are completed in a single visit, others require multiple touchpoints. Success in this role requires self-motivation, integrity, professionalism, and the ability to build trust through a relaxed, customer-first approach.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the full sales cycle, including lead generation and closing
    • Design solar systems using online tools and present proposals to homeowners
    • Analyze customers’ current and projected energy usage and financial return on solar and storage batteries
    • Prepare and deliver customized proposals and pricing
    • Close contracts in-home and virtually
    • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions in CRM
    • Drive your own earning potential in a performance-based, uncapped commission structure

    Qualifications

    • 2+ years of proven sales experience (solar industry experience preferred)
    • Strong ability to self-generate leads and maintain consistent follow-up
    • Demonstrated track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
    • Proficient in computer use, including Microsoft Office and basic Excel
    • Comfortable using web-based tools and technology
    • Strong interest in clean energy and emerging technologies
    • Highly motivated by career growth, income potential, and meaningful impact
    • High integrity with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers
    • Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
    • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
    • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • Reliable, consistent attendance
    • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively
    • Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass background screening

    Compensation

    This position is commission based, with average annual salaries ranging from $75,000 to $225,000.
